When motor functions of the hands are limited and head control is poor, this posture often gives the child an opportunity to watch hands when touching and grasping objects. The child is lying on a wedge of foam rubber, the height of which is chosen to fit the size of the child. The toys are kept in a basket or washing bowl so they do not roll away.
