Black light stimulationBlack light stimulation means UV-light combined with objects that fluoresce in UV-light. If the clothing has been washed with a detergent that fluoresces, white surfaces glow in UV-light. The light source is kept in a box close to the upper front surface but not visible. This way UV-light does not reach the eye, only the visible fluorescent light of longer wave lengths. Playing in “black light” is NOT passive stimulation but active playing, combining the tactile and haptic information of the hands, movement, and visual information, a multimodal activation of functioning. When the child has learned a play situation in black-light, the same play can be started in regular room light.
